Politics of Fashion / Fashion of Politics

Politics of Fashion / Fashion of Politics at the Design Exchange was an exhibit curated by Toronto's own Jeanne Beker. An extensive display showcasing the importance of controversial fashion as a catalyst for political change, this exhibit featured pieces by acclaimed designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Rad Hourani, and Rei Kwakubo of Comme des Garçons. Politics of Fashion ended this past weekend, but in case you missed it, here are some of my favourite pieces.

Interior Design Show 2015

Great stuff at the Interior Design Show this year. I especially enjoyed the furniture by Avenue Road and Sebastian Herkner, Montreal designer Tat Chao's avant-garde light fixtures, and the stunning gold plated chair by the Toronto-based Studio Woolf. I also had the opportunity to attend a seminar on business fundamentals for design start-ups which was hosted in part by Toronto's Mason Studio, one of my favourite design firms. Very inspiring and motivating.
